Atal Tunnel & Beyond
First Tour Operators to scale Shinkun La (5091 Metres)
On 3rd October 2020, The Prime Minister inaugurated India’s latest engineering marvel the Atal Tunnel which cuts across Rohtang Pass and reduces distance between Manali and Leh by up to 04 hours.
This gave another idea to showcase and experience something new. Ladakh has long remained close to our hearts being one of the first tour operating companies to organize tours in the region since tourism opened there in 1974.
Our director, Mr.Sanjay Razdan, however did not want it to be a boring touch and go to.
Being a professional motorsport himself, he wanted that this adventure be a bit more ambitious.
We planned to go across Atal Tunnel all the way up to Shinku La (5091metres), a feat that had not been achieved by any of the tour operators in India as this route was still in itsvery first stage of being developed.
Proper 4x4 SUVs were required to scale this route and we got together with our friends in the travel fraternity to become the first tour operators to scale Shinku La.
The 5-day itinerary started from Manali and was routed in this way:
Manali – Atal Tunnel – Darcha - Keylong – Rohtang Pass - Manali
